Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 September 2026

These terms apply when you use ToScale at toscale.app — the free planner and the optional Pro subscription. They are meant to be read, so they are short. If anything is unclear, write to isaac.lee.dev@gmail.com.

Who we are

ToScale is run by WonJoong Lee, an individual developer (sole proprietor) based in the Republic of Korea. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean WonJoong Lee, and “you” means the person using ToScale. You can reach us at isaac.lee.dev@gmail.com.

What ToScale is

ToScale is a browser-based tool for placing furniture at its real size on a floor plan. The planner is free to use. Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds unlimited saved plans, kept on our server and available on your other devices. The pricing page lists exactly what each option includes.

Buying Pro through Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

When you buy Pro, the sale is made by Paddle, and Paddle's buyer terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms) apply to the purchase together with these terms. Paddle takes the payment, issues your receipt or invoice, and collects any sales tax or VAT. We never see your card details.

Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

Refunds

Every new Pro subscription comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee on its first payment. How it works and how to ask are set out in our Refund Policy. Nothing in these terms takes away any right to cancel or to a refund that the consumer law of your country gives you.

Your licence key

Pro is tied to a licence key that you receive when you buy it. There is no separate account: the key identifies your subscription and gives access to the plans stored with it, so keep it private.

The key is for your own use on your own devices. Please do not share or publish it. We may deactivate a key that has been published or is clearly being shared beyond one person.

Your plans and uploads

The floor plans and layouts you create stay yours. You allow us to store and process them only as far as needed to run ToScale for you — for example, to keep your plans on our server and bring them to your other devices when you use Pro. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep and why, including the downscaled copy of uploaded plan images.

Only upload material you have the right to use, and do not use ToScale to store or share anything unlawful.

Measurements are a guide

ToScale shows sizes based on the scale you set and the dimensions you enter. If the scale is set against a wrong measurement, or a plan is not drawn to scale, everything placed on it will be off in the same proportion. Check critical measurements in the real room before you buy furniture, order built-in work or make building decisions. ToScale does not replace a professional survey or architectural advice.

Fair use

Do not try to disrupt the service, get around the plan limit or licence checks, reach anyone else's data, or send automated traffic that puts unreasonable load on it. We may suspend access that does.

If Pro ends

When a subscription ends, syncing stops and you can no longer add plans beyond what the free planner allows. Plans already saved on your device stay there and still open. Copies on our server are kept for at least 30 days, so you can pick up where you left off if you subscribe again; after that we may delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.

If we ever stop offering Pro, we will tell active subscribers at least 30 days in advance and refund the unused part of any period already paid for.

Availability and changes

We work to keep ToScale running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Features may change over time. If a change removes something Pro subscribers are paying for, the second paragraph of the section above applies.

Liability

ToScale is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as the cost of furniture that turns out not to fit — and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If you use ToScale as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow it.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top of this page will change. Changes that affect paying subscribers will be announced before they apply.
