Will my bed fit in my room?
A bed that fits the wall can still leave no room to open a wardrobe or walk past. ToScale places your bed on your real floor plan at true size so you can see the fit — and the clearance on every side — before you buy.
Upload your floor plan, set the scale once, then add your bed at its real size and drag it against the wall. A double is about 140×190 cm, a queen 150×200 cm and a king 180×200 cm — add nightstands and a wardrobe to check the whole layout works.
Standard bed sizes
Mattress sizes are fairly standard, but a frame and headboard add width and length — so plan for the bed, not just the mattress. Place your bed at its real size in ToScale to see how much room is left to walk and open doors.
| Bed size | Mattress width | Mattress length | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single / Twin | 90 cm (35 in) | 190 cm (75 in) | Kids' rooms, small single bedrooms |
| Small double | 120 cm (47 in) | 190 cm (75 in) | Solo sleepers who want more room |
| Double / Full | 140 cm (55 in) | 190 cm (75 in) | Couples in compact bedrooms |
| Queen | 150 cm (59 in) | 200 cm (79 in) | Most main bedrooms |
| King | 180 cm (71 in) | 200 cm (79 in) | Large main bedrooms |
| Super king | 200 cm (79 in) | 200 cm (79 in) | Big bedrooms, spread-out sleepers |
A bed frame usually adds 5–15 cm on each side and a headboard adds length, so measure the whole frame — not the mattress — and enter that size in ToScale.

Frequently asked questions
- Will a queen bed fit in a small bedroom?
- A queen (150×200 cm) fits many small bedrooms, but you need walking space on at least one side and clearance for the door and wardrobe. Try it on your plan to be sure.
- How much clearance do I need around a bed?
- About 60–75 cm (24–30 in) on the sides you get in from, plus space for any wardrobe or drawer doors to open. ToScale shows these gaps as you place the bed.
